The Wizard of OZ returns to the National Concert Hall this Christmas
Follow the yellow brick road over the rainbow and all the way to the National Concert Hall this Christmas for the musical of all musicals – the wonderful WIZARD OF OZ ! All the famous characters are here – the Lion, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Good Witch Glinda, the Wicked Witch of the West, and of course Dorothy and her little dog, Toto! Festival Productions – the team that brought you ‘Annie’, ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Oliver!’ - returns with this all-singing all-dancing production of the classic Judy Garland film, winner of 6 Academy Awards and much loved for generations. The movie celebrates it’s 75th birthday this year, making it an ideal year to revisit Dorothy on her incredible journey to Oz. This all Irish production is directed by Vivian Coates, and stars Tony Finnegan as the cowardly Lion, with Michael Evans as the Scarecrow and Jimmy Dixon as the Tin Man. The role of Dorothy will be shared by two new Irish stars – Lisa Lyons and Anabel Sweeney. A colourful and lavish production, it features spectacular costumes and sets, and the wonderful Festival chorus, dancers and orchestra.The show runs from December 27th to January 3rd, with both matinee and evening performances.
