Things We Throw Away – Musictown
You don't have to be highbrow to enjoy opera, a fact that 'Wide Open Opera' will ably demonstrate with their series of pop up operas on the streets of the city.
As part of MusicTown they will perform five short operas with music written by Brian Irvine and text by John McIlduff. Each opera has been inspired by life on the streets of Dublin and will depict vignettes ranging from a woman who sells bananas on the street to a group of workers out on one of their daily smoke breaks.
Everyday stories told through the dramatic medium of opera. Live singing with a pre-recorded soundtrack by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra conducted by Fergus Sheil.
Wide Open Opera are a dynamic Irish opera company who are bringing a range of opera experiences to Irish audiences and championing new and Irish artists and composers.
