Tales of Abstraction, Victor Toapanta Salazar
Ecuadorian born, Dublin based artist Victor Toapanta Salazar returns with his 20 exclusive and distinctive new works. "Tales of Abstraction’ highlights the last 2 years of his life. In this exhibition, stories and feelings experienced during last couple of years turns into vivid colours and heavy contrast that express different levels of feelings. His early body of work began as figurative on paper, but his most recent series of exuberant abstract paintings are on hardboard and paper. Victor uses extensive texture to generate color chains full of movement, dynamism and emphasis.

Tales of Abstraction is coming together of his most recent expressions and details significant moments, people, places that have shaped his recent life. Victor Toapanta Salazar is a self-taught abstract painter, born in Ecuador. Victor got the travel bug at an early age and travelled extensively across the Americas, Europe and Asia before finally settling in Dublin in 1999. His adopted home of Ireland is the source of much of his inspiration where he wields color, typography and mixed media into his works. His first solo exhibition ‘Pastels of Venice’ took place in Venice in 2000. ‘Tales of Abstraction’ took 2 years to prepare after ‘Conversations in Colours’ exhibition in Dublin.
