CEO Experiment Featuring Richie Buckley & Brian Dunning

Combining a certain youthful vigour with two undisputed elder statesmen of the Irish jazz scene, we have another presentation specially devised for STRUT. Piano trio, The CEO Experiment, have been making waves here in Ireland in the past 2 years, garnering praise for their highly creative improvisations and their tighter than tight sound world. Elements of Post-bop and contemporary jazz are channelled through original compositions as well as their inventive take on traditional standards, serving as a vehicle for high-energy interplay. Le Cool have labeled them “One of the most exciting up-an-coming artists in the country”. While recording their debut album in Michael Buckley’s Dublin studio, Michael wanted in and the piano trio became a quartet. They will be joined for this special performance by another Buckley that needs little introduction. Tenor saxophonist, Richie Buckley is “something of a genius, with a world reputation among saxophonists” according to the Irish Times. And rounding out this quintet with aplomb is flautist Brian Dunning who is no stranger to the Peacock Stage, having played on numerous occasions throughout the 70’s and early 80’s.

Collectively this quintet will strut their stuff, dipping into material from 'Alone Together' as well as a collective wealth of original material.
