Hard Working Class Heroes – Bad Bobs

FestivalMusic

Hard Working Class Heroes Festival is on this Friday, 3rd of October at the Bad Bobs.

Grim

8pm - 8.30pm Bad Bobs

’m GRIM. I’m an angst-ridden white European man; so the old cliché would suggest I’ll never achieve my subconscious goal of my father’s approval.
I'm an exporter of Lo-fi Electro-blues:
Electro because of the ‘instrumentation’.
Blues because, mostly, I get irritated by things other people seem to find totally acceptable; the music I write, therefore, is a sort of catharsis.
I've had creative and professional dalliances, both on stage and in the studio, with Tom Middleton and the Neil Cowley Trio.
I've been featured on Other Voices, it was a surprise to me too...
AND I'm one of the Daily Mirror's 'ones to watch for 2014'; an accolade that's sure to lead to much disillusionment for someone...
Oh! You should go to GRIMderry.bandcamp.com 'cause I have free downloads there...

The Shaker Hymn

The Shaker Hymn are a four-piece alternative rock band from Cork, Ireland. Having known each other since childhood, the quartet started making rudimentary teenage noises back in the midst of 2005.

The catalyst for what would become The Shaker Hymn was a two-month American excursion early in 2012. A remarkable road trip ensued, involving acoustic support slots to Chelsea Crowell (daughter of Rodney). It was on this trek that brand new, future-embracing songs were crafted; songs that would shortly enter the repertoire of the fledgling Shaker Hymn.

Following national and local airplay of their first two critically acclaimed singles, the band's debut album, Rascal's Antique, was released on 30th May 2014, on the band's own label, Heavy Noids Records.

The self-penned and self-produced ten-track album, mixed by Christian Best (Mick Flannery / O Emperor), covers all bases from garage-style cut 'n' thrust through to deceptively hard-edge, Byrds-y power pop.
