Father Christmas @ Powerscourt Centre
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre. At 12noon on Saturday, November 29th, Powerscourt Centre will be welcoming back in their humble opinion Dublin City’s most authentic Father Christmas. Arriving to the joyful melodies of the Lazus Children’s Choir, one of Dublin’s most popular Father Christmas’ alongside Mrs. Claus and his elves will welcome families and shoppers with jubilant delight.
Filled with 18th century charm, Father Christmas’s den and workroom is a must see for all the family. From the moment you enter families will feel as if they have landed in Lapland and children will get a real winter wonderland experience. Greeted by a toasty fire and twinkling lights, the whole experience will be a truly magical experience for big and little kids.
Entry is only €12 and includes a photo with Father Christmas and a unique gift, plus a donation to the Simon Community is given.
From 11am that morning, the Powerscourt Centre will be the perfect place for a fun-filled family day out with events and entertainment taking place till 2pm. Balloon modelers, face-painters and the Pitch Perfect choir will add an extra special jolly feel to the day. With a real-life Father Christmas and his helpers on hand to welcome everyone to the centre, the yuletide spirit is sure to be filling the centre.
Throughout the entire month of December, the Powerscourt Theatre, Dublin’s biggest little intimate theatre is showing The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and It Sound’s Like Christmas. On the 11th December, the centre will see the Simon Community Shine a Light Campaign on the façade of the centre. On the evening, the cast of Wizard of Oz, The Culwick Choral Society, and the Lucan Gospel Choir will perform alongside international singer Brian Kennedy and James Walmsley. The centre will be filled to the brim with late night shoppers enjoying the buzz of the festive activities.
From a plethora of choirs such as The Park Singers, Halleluia Gospel Choir, and the Drumcondra National Choir, as well as complimentary lunchtime Opera to children’s story-telling you will be filled with joy when visiting the Powerscourt Centre this December. Whether you come to enjoy the live performances, do your shopping or to eat in one of their 7 eateries, the Powerscourt Centre is really the centre like no other for the whole family this Christmas.
