Fabulous Food Trails at The Westbury Hotel
Dublin’s iconic hotel has launched a partnership with award-winning Fabulous Food Trails – a selection of walking tours through the city to sample local Irish delicacies and artisan producers.
What better way to get acquainted with a city than through its food? Fabulous Food Trails – a walking tour of Dublin comprising a series of sumptuous stops sampling local delicacies – is now available to experience as part of an exclusive overnight package at The Westbury.
With its unrivalled location off trendy Grafton Street in the heart of the city, and a rich heritage in fresh Irish produce, The Westbury is the perfect hotel partner for Fabulous Food Trails; recent winner in the Best Urban Experience category at the 2015 Irish Tourism Industry Awards.
“Visitors from all over the world know Dublin as a friendly, vibrant city but few really get under the skin of its burgeoning food scene,” said Eveleen Coyle, Fabulous Food Trails founder and life-long Dubliner.
“Guests stay at The Westbury for its central location, fantastic service and the exquisite food at its two restaurants; Balfes and Wilde. With our Fabulous Food Trails package, we invite The Westbury’s residents on a culinary journey around the city to experience first hand why Dublin is one of the most exciting culinary destinations in Europe”.
Led by experienced local guides, Fabulous Food Trails’ half day walking tour varies its itinerary according to which producers are in season and who is creating the city’s most talked-about culinary delights. Depending on the time of year, guests are treated to a stop at Stephen’s Oyster stall at Temple Bar Food Market where the proprietor is delighted to offer a detailed explanation as to why his oysters – harvested every Friday from pristine Atlantic waters – are well-known aphrodisiacs.
Stephen’s knowledgeable insights are washed down with a glass of chilled chardonnay before guests continue on to Powerscourt Townhouse to sample heavenly smoked salmon bagels at The Pepper Pot. Another rewarding stop hidden among the winding streets of Dublin’s Creative Quarter is Cocoa Atelier whose hot chocolate will bring a tear of joy to even the most seasoned chocaholic.
The Fabulous Food Trails Package at the Westbury comprises admission for two on a Fabulous Food Trail and includes one night’s luxury accommodation at The Westbury, a sumptuous three course dinner for two in Balfes, and a full Irish Breakfast in award-winning Wilde – The Restaurant. This bespoke package can be enjoyed on Friday or Saturday nights and is available until Saturday the 26th September 2015. Advance bookings are advised and can be made through the hotel on +353 1 6463333. Fabulous Food Trails at the Westbury is available for €430 and is subject to availability.
