Dublin’s Macabre Side – Bram Stoker Festival
Dublin’s Macabre Side – Pat Liddy Walking Tour
From the Ancient Undead to Dublin’s Gothic Writers - the Legacy that inspired Bram Stoker
?Bram Stoker’s imagination was fueled by Dublin’s gory history, dark happenings, violence, torture, famine and plague. From our shadowy mythological past, stories of the undead and the wanderings of troubled spirits have peopled our culture long before Dracula saw the light of day (which the dreaded Count had to avoid!). In a walk around side streets, alleys and the former medieval quarter of Dublin, Pat Liddy will help to bring to life Gothic tales such as Stoker’s Dracula, le Fanu’s Carmilla and Oscar Wilde’s. The Picture of Dorian Gray. The spectral origins of some of our Halloween customs will also be revealed.
