Culture Night – Chester Beatty Library
Culture Night - Chester Beatty Library
The Chester Beatty Library is a great addition to your cultural exploration of town! While you're there view unique treasures, including Chester Beatty’s A–Z highlights exhibition. Or maybe you could take a free guided tour at 7pm, 8pm or 9pm. Movie screenings are on offer every 30 minutes from 6:30pm. There will also be Family Activity and Adult/Teen drawing packs available from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
The Chester Beatty Library is described by the Lonely Planet as not just the best museum in Ireland, but one of the best in Europe, making it a must-see attraction for any Dublin visitor’s itinerary. As the only museum in Ireland to win ‘European Museum of the Year’, the library’s rich collections from countries across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe open a window on the artistic treasures of the great cultures and religions of the world.
Egyptian papyrus texts, beautifully illuminated copies of the Qur’an, the Bible, European medieval and renaissance manuscripts are among the highlights on display. In its diversity, the collection captures much of the richness of human creative expression from about 2700 BC to the present day.
