Date for Santa Claus Arriving in Arnotts announced!
The date for the arrival of Santa Claus in Arnotts has been announced!
They revealed their Christmas Windows recently, now it’s time to really kick start Christmas in Arnotts on Henry Street with the arrival of Santa Claus. His arrival to Arnotts has become a firm Irish family tradition where a huge crowd gathers outside the store each year to welcome everyone’s favourite man in red.
The celebrations take place on Sunday, November 17th. Santa will be chaperoned this year by two very special guests, entrepreneur and public figure Aoibhín Garrihy and Freya McEvoy (6) of County Waterford. Freya attends The St Joseph’s SVP Childcare Centre in Waterford and promises to give Santa a warm Irish welcome ahead of his official arrival.
This Christmas, Arnotts is once again proud to be supporting Saint Vincent de Paul with 100% of all donations garnered from Santa’s grotto going directly to the charity. Families visiting Santa’s Grotto are asked to make a voluntary donation of €10 per family.
Other events happening in Arnotts during the festive season is the popular , the ‘Arnotts Postal Parade’ is back by high demand and will take place every Saturday and Sunday in December, as well as December 23rd and Christmas Eve. The ‘Arnotts Postal Parade’ will run on the hour every hour from 12-3pm delivering wonder for everyone to enjoy. The parade will see a brass band accompany some of Santa’s hardworking elves as they march to one of Santa’s special post boxes to collect the letters for Santa, who will be busy meeting all the boys and girls at the his grotto before Christmas Eve.
At Santa’s arrival, Aoibhín Garrihy said, “Going to meet Santa as a child was one of the highlights of the year for me, it was always a tradition in our house! I have so many memories of writing my wish list with my family and going in to see Santa at Arnotts was always the most magical experience.”
Speaking about the partnership, Kieran Stafford, National President, Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) said, “SVP highly values its partnership with Arnotts and the support the company has provided in the past. This support is vital to ensure that SVP volunteers can provide the necessary support and comfort to thousands of families who are struggling.”
The Arnotts smart virtual Santa Q will return this year alleviating long waiting times for families. Tickets are allocated on a first come, first served basis each day in-store. Arnotts will provide a host of entertainment for families throughout the festive period to preoccupy children they wait. A notification text will let families know when it’s almost time to meet Santa Claus so they have plenty of time to make their way back to the Santa’s Grotto.
