His arrival to Arnotts has become a firm Irish family tradition where a huge crowd gathers outside the store each year to welcome everyone’s favourite man in red.

Santa will be chaperoned this year by two very special guests, entrepreneur and public figure Aoibhín Garrihy and Freya McEvoy (6) of County Waterford. Freya attends The St Joseph’s SVP Childcare Centre in Waterford and promises to give Santa a warm Irish welcome ahead of his official arrival.

At Santa’s arrival, Aoibhín Garrihy said, “Going to meet Santa as a child was one of the highlights of the year for me, it was always a tradition in our house! I have so many memories of writing my wish list with my family and going in to see Santa at Arnotts was always the most magical experience.”

Speaking about the partnership, Kieran Stafford, National President, Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) said, “SVP highly values its partnership with Arnotts and the support the company has provided in the past. This support is vital to ensure that SVP volunteers can provide the necessary support and comfort to thousands of families who are struggling.”

Arnotts will provide a host of entertainment for families throughout the festive period to preoccupy children they wait. A notification text will let families know when it’s almost time to meet Santa Claus so they have plenty of time to make their way back to the Santa’s Grotto.
