The products range from homewares to small Christmas crafts, ideal for the gifting season. Socially challenged people are in the back of everyone’s minds around Christmas time, especially their families and people around them. We Make Good is trying to improve conditions for these people.
Collaborations
We Make Good collaborates with their network of designers and makers to create delightful products to sell to customers. These products come from sustainable sources and are ethically produced. Some past collaborators include Jonathan Blayney, Claire-Anne O’Brien, Jordan Ralph Design and John Glynn.
Speaking about the social enterprise, one of the founders Joan Ellison said, “For people in Ireland coming from a disadvantaged background, the barriers to finding work can be so hard to overcome – greater employment through social businesses can play a real role in addressing this issue, and means a fairer, more inclusive society.”
Workshops
The shop will also host a variety of workshops over the next six weeks. The first workshop will be with Margie Jean Lewis of Tjikko Floral who will host a wreath making workshop on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th November at 6.15pm. The cost will be €65.00. More workshop announcements to follow soon.
We Make Good’s mission is to grow the social enterprise sector across the country. They want to create many more job opportunities for people from disadvantaged backgrounds and in doing so acknowledge their persistence to commence on a journey towards a better future and life.
